Arabesque

Post by goldenmyst » October 1st, 2009, 6:30 pm

Arabesque

Late Afternoon sunlight slants across the room
Patterns in orange dance
Through the window panes
The trees outside appear
Blurred in reddened light paint
Like the vision of an artist
Conjured from some mythical time
Shadows crawl across the lawn
Etching the light green in patterns of coal
Like dark clouds
The blackness spreads across the lawn
Till the trees silhouetted like ancient Titans
Haunt my world with preternatural beauty

My evening thoughts turn to you
Your touch the rich earth
Which nourishes my roots
My body the open flower craving your pollen
You open each petal of my heart
With gentle persistence lay bare my center
Gently cradle my most secret self
Holding the vulnerable egg of my deepest feelings
With motherly tenderness stroking my center
The lilt of your words
Falls like gentle rain upon my sensate being
Each syllable full of the sweet nectar of your ardor
As you sow seeds of love
In the garden of my soul

Dear John,
what gorgeous imagery, I'm softened gently after reading. Thanks for sharing this.

I like the rich, colorful, full-bodied "time-lapse photo" moment here.

Loved the mixture of colours and the light and dark and especially the trees that were like Titans. :D

Doreen, if only my urban hustle allowed for more moments like the one described in my poem. Thanks so much for reading. :)

Nazz, glad you enjoyed my kodachrome poem. I dig your take on it.

Perdida, I'm pleased that your enjoyed the colors and all. Yes the Titan word fit well. So good that you caught that. ;)

Hester, mucho gracias.

Lightning Rod, gentle is often nice. Thanks for reading. :)
