Gina sent me my very first
telegram from Western Union
still have it in a box of what-nots
the sentiment was exquisitely concise
Dear Steve, Screw You ! Love Gina
she told me later that she really wanted
to say FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE, but the weasel
in the wire office said she couldn't do that
but that was cool, 'cause she told me
many times in person, just for emphasis
I didn't really ever understand her
behavior as I never made any promises
that I could remember
she was a little spitfire, that Gina
I really liked her
I wonder if she still hates my guts.

yes mnaz, it was heartfelt to some degree, which degree I will never understand....but it's no different than trying to make sense of the universe.....happy new year !

saw...that made me grin. people who has the guts to be themselves and say and do whatever the hell they want without worrying about what others may think, makes me grin. i wish i was one of those people.
i wasn't going to reply today...just read. but then i had to reply to this one. it didn't want to let me go.
and the poem about the girl who was too lazy to try new things and everyday became like yesterday...it grabbed me by the throat. this is where i am. it's where i've been for years, only scared instead of lazy. i'm frozen with fear & supposed to's, & frustrated...and probably suffering from pms right now and i'm sure i'll regret this reply tomorrow. haha. anyway, i need to get out of the house, get some fresh air.
i'll be back
ps. i read random poems (more replies later, i promise)...some great stuff.
Cecil! wow! that get off the road poem.

thanx smile for taking the time and emotional energy to connect, I appreciate it a great deal...we poets are trying, aren't we...to reach out, touch something that strikes a chord somewhere....you needn't have regrets, it's just a heartfelt response that many of us can relate to....that frozen inactivity that grabs us from time to time, laziness, fear, doesn't matter....we instinctively know we need to get out of the rut which is easier acknowledged than done.....fresh air....YES !!!!!
and Hester, thanx as well.....glad you could relate......peace, steve

yes we are. and reached out you did 2. tHat is much appreciated. thank you steve.
i watched the new alice in wonderland movie this weekend. and two things the mad hatter said to alice stuck in my head. first he said to her "you have lost your muchness" (trying to explain to her why she isn't the same alice they remember) and later in the movie he asked her "why do you always seem to be too small or too tall?"
have a good week
