in the sand and ocean

by sweetwater
leaning back into a chair
with the window open unto a blank sky
like paper as I sat to glimpse
the emptiness that I had drawn

as surreal as a windswept beach
in the sand and ocean
over depths of untraveled pathways
as it sits alone in its geography undiscovered

the possibility of a poem
elaborating in such disguise
and in great detail
the beginning

just as the wind blew across the horizon of my youth

as it kept me bewildered for centuries
and disappeared into the shortness of my breath

as if thrown across a desk
in some illustration and use of metaphor
only to forget

and while folding the pages
to remember the sublime details of one's discovery
that you had read

and never looking back long enough
to remember it more than
a moment in the passing
of an epoch and era of candid reply

the moment of ever opening

into the well
you must dip
the question and the answer
dance
and the answer hides behind the door
who has the key
is it locked?
love the buildup
find root in the pretense

amazing poem...
thanks

leaning back into an empty sky

i find the possibility of a poem
thrown into my bewilderment
that i have kept folding
like pages

and i remember all the sublime details
of a meography yet to be read
