I'll continue to burn

According to status quo,
I'm the loser.

Running after songs to sing,
neath primal moonlit spotlights,

moved by the millions of sadnesses
alive in hungry dark places.

I have a light to shine there,
and it blazes despite your will.

Disguised as controlled fire,
in a regulated campsite,

I'll continue to burn,
you'll complain about the heat.

love the phrasing
the gut talk
the lines:
moved by the millions of sadnesses
alive in hungry dark places.
love!

moved by the millions of sadnesses
alive in hungry dark places"

smoldering steady, and "catch a fire," as Marley said. nice.

much more metaphoric/positive/resolute than my blunt scream back in 2006..

...'where is the fire in my belly, when false prophets multiply as vermin,
when machines would crush our spirit? when do we lay down flat?
when will faint stirrings of anger bring the people alive? i look for vital signs.'

I love the flow of this. I could read this a thousand times just to hear the the rhythm of the words. :)
