"We can be trusted"

There's a view of clouds, yonder, steeling themselves against the forlorn prairie;
Just outside of their reach, stand tall and proud warriors of bark and sinew, and the malodorous rush of winds, foul, with the breath of temptations unto death.
Their colors, as dust devils and the stomp of angry bulls, seep, or rather, weep across the plain;
My tears race to meet them;
Fate foretold the coming of wars, that carry on forever, of ants and other insects, and men who hate and kill with smiley faces tattooed on their arms, chest, and back; and on their letterheads too.

I really like how the poem unfolds. some amazing images, and then the final few lines.... powerful.

Fate foretold the coming of wars, that carry on forever, of ants and other insects, and men who hate and kill with smiley faces tattooed on their arms, chest, and back; and on their letterheads too.
