I have never found bats creepy, I just keep reflecting on all the mosquitos they eat -- they are awfully smelly, though, if you ever get near their sleeping quarters! I have had some great encounters with the Austin bats, including a welcome my first day of work in the city, when I came tottering out of the office building at dusk and heard this strange twittering. I looked up, and way above my head about twenty or thirty bats were flying in a circle. I figured they came to greet me -- the word was out they had a new buddy!
