i thought

i wondered where all this would carry me
a life of buffalo and education
ceremony and healing
this moment it would seem is a gift from my past to my future
those kids in lock down brought some ghosts to my hometown
my heart like a mousetrap
snapping shut on rodents
i loved
unsuspecting, they ate the cheese
wasted my time
lying, cheating, stealing
anything not nailed down
i had to roll
getting so much better
taking lessons from sea otters
quiet time by the turquoise sea
gone is the ritual
the mystery is simple
just swim
freedom is more than a description
its a lifestyle
i thought way more than i should have
about everything and about nothing
i loved too much
i didnt care about the same things as other people-
but that time is over now
i thought---

Good stuff, and yes, you thought-

but thought sometimes clouds the reality of things

really nice trip through the thoughts of someone trying to be true to their self despite the peer pressure to conform....it can be a lonely journey for sure.....i have often felt like an alien, dropped me somehow into this world, into my family......there is so much to enjoy when we slow down enough to learn from sea otters, from all that waits for our attention......it's easy to be distracted in the "modern" world......doing nothing takes as much focus as doing something...........enjoyed

The whole was beautiful--and I was thinking of (probably because of the buffalo) the northeast green corner of Oklahoma around Pawhuska--and of a birthday daytrip that I enjoyed with my proto-wife--and of freedom. Thanks, beautiful!
