she told me two things
that I have never forgotten
Never embarrass an apologist
and two, She had never
experienced comfort on any level

odd comments ?.....not really
Only if you have no imagination
oh yea, she said that as well
that makes three things she told me
wait, she also told me

Her relationship with her parents
was an unbroken circle
of reproach, yea it was four things
she told me, that's right, a complete life
drawn and quartered
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

sounds like a tough orbit or two..
the unbroken circle we can appreciate,
that seems timeless enough and true
but, of reproach?

in a way my novel 'Gone Hallucinogen Freeway' takes on this subject
the novel is experimental in style because as a poet, I had to improvise,
it becomes an exploration of the lives of young people that are beginning
to question authority, who want to explore taboo things, and therefore
are caught up in the circle of abuse by parents, that regardless if they
mean well, are messing with the minds of the young people that must
experience and explore, and so it goes, the vicious cycle, or abuse and
dysfunctional treatment. We are all products of a dysfunctional society,
and sometimes the youth is pound like a round peg into the square hole.
Sometimes, there is reconciliation, and adjustment, sometimes, the circle
just keeps running down.

I'm thinking in particular of one character in my novel, that was a big influence
on my young mind, she was a wild and vibrant girl, with a phenomenal mind
a beautiful imagination, but her family was very much doing strange things
to her to keep her in line.I was sort of caught in the middle of her drama,
and experienced and saw the side effects through her eyes of how they
manipulated her.At the same time I was seeing the other people around me
going through similar situations, all this against the backdrop
of the late 60's.

This was really nice characterization, saw.
Thank you for showing it.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

an unbroken circle of reproach.

mmm.
godless & songless, western man dances with the stuffed gorilla through all the blind alleys of a dead-end world.
