I would resent
a person that says I am not a witch

to use it in a attempt at sound bite
to become a person that wants
to go back to the dark ages

we know what they did to so-called witches
and so it goes, what goes around comes
around, history will bite you on the ass
and we all know its about the gas
and history is the assassination
of its own last famous words

I am not a witch, but if I was
I would make a batch of ointment
and ride the broom of Joyce
and fly the riverrun, past Eve
and all hollows weave a spell
of weird word ridicule radical
riding deep into earth of worm and root
and high into sky of Bosh
and Picasso discussing forbidden fruit

I am not a witch but I read The White Goddess
and I kissed a witch once, and a thousand names
of her, lived in the potion of her lips
Helen's face launched a thousand ships
but the fall of empires

we are all Bozos

are true clowns

these days the media
is the butt of Bozo
not any sick joke
that some fake christain
spoke

we all need to laugh
that is a natural act
but clowns are not comedians
and comedians are not true clowns

Jesus was a Bozo too
and Buddha was a Bozo
just like you

even though comedians clown around
and clowns make funny faces, the true
clown is silent bit deadly
the true comedian
is like a poet, we may wake up
in the middle of the night
and laugh at something
that was lost on us hours before

all poets are true clowns
but their words wear the costume
and will not make a child smile
and giggle, but what mirth is there
between the pun and nun
will make a grown man cry

and when Bozo the poet dies
we will bury him in the back of the bus
and laugh for a full ten minutes
from the pit of our bozo Buddha bellies
but we will not burn no Bibles or Korans
because that's not fucking funny
