since the great war it is clear
the end of days, end of ends, lord of lords
street corner wailers, fire-breathing preachers
psychotropic strays, sincere heads of state
all hovering in smoke, at times onscreen

religion dominion hath no such confusion
GOD will end his beautiful disaster when it is time
the days are numbered, pointless, so turn it loose
the end of days, no future, the future is irrelevant,
bleed it while you can, swept away soon

anyway, i don't always respond to comments
because, well, I mean there might be a God
or there might be a Poet, you get my drift?
people who don't believe in that God
have been either marginalized or they
are famous scientists or journalists.
And so it goes, the insanity of religion
or the religion of insanity, and those
who speak out either get drowned out
by the media or they seem ineffectual
to the task, I have been writing poetry
for many years, I wrote stuff that says
much the same today like " people lined
up at the end of history for hallucinatory bread"
I wrote that about thirty years ago, I wrote
about the cheap carny salesmen of God.
I wrote about men wearing jackets of bombs
and bombs wearing jackets of men, I looked
down that road and i saw only zombies of God
marching to their rapture, heck I wrote a novel
about teenagers on LSD.I wanted to write about
poets I met.

sorry to ramble on

freaked out about the 'evangelicals,' that's all
i was dragged to a megachurch every sunday
in my 'ute,' and i still shudder over some of it

and when it came out about bush's phone call to chirac:
"GOD told me to invade iraq... gog and magog are at work
in the middle east, and GOD wants to use this conflict
to erase his enemies and pave the way..."
chirac said, 'huh?'

it's all about using the Bible to fake us out.
while they stuff billions in their pockets.
they are psychopathic, and they call the shots
don't say much for human development.
we really seem to be at some history end point.
Alfred North Whitehead said in a little book i read
of dialogues between Whitehead and others,
"we have too much history" yeah we have too much
God of history, and too much history of God, which
means too much war, to much insanity, and too much
pills that don't do anything.
