Skating on a river
Blades are sharp
Cutting my path
Waves of lines follow me into frozen eternity
My heart racing with the speed of the ice
I am in the shadow of the crow
River Skating

Re: River Skating
skating on black ice
for time cannot keep pace with the life you are living
cast are the dice
you are not the one to give in
living on the edge
where the existence is falling
and the I begins
on treacherous ground
zero is calling
and no one can win
it is me that is waltzing under snowclouds in a silent dance
look at me as I am chewing ginger with a wistful glance
in glacier water you sleep
down in the deep
dreams gone astray
in frozen delay
skating on black ice
for time cannot keep pace with the life you are living
no deception, no lies
you are not the one to give in
frostwork on your lips
upset
the sense of balance
an uncertain trip
let
it be a challenge
(blinding ice crystals camouflage the crevasses
and the blasphemer's wife
finds her face mirrored in an ice-cube
and watches her eyes slowly scorching
in the fervor of ice)
in a glacial world
you better wear snow shoes
you better ride ice floes
before the thaw
in the frozen wastes
open your eyes up wide
let in the light
let in the awe
do you skate away
on thin black ice
where vitreous bodies
fall and burst?
skating on black ice
you are not the one to give in
you are not the one to give in
(from a song i once wrote, ca. 1999)

Good action story. I can see you now, racing a shadow. Love it.
And Panta's reply is inspired.
