CHOOSING MEN. (STRONG LANGUAGE)

If she had to choose, she would choose Reno
Over Brady any day. It stands to
Reason, she thinks, sitting on the cold floor,

After the exercises, feeling the
Hardness on her ass. Brady smoked, Reno
Didn’t; Brady boozed until he couldn’t

Stand, Reno didn’t, just had the odd glass.
Brady flirted with the girls at parties,
Lifted their skirts with his finger, looking

At their panties, Reno didn’t, he stayed
With her through the night being always at
Her side, didn’t look at the other girls,

Never lets them turn his head. She now sits
Forward and puts her hands around her knees,
Laying her cheek there. She ponders, lets thoughts

Turn over in her mind. If she had to
Choose, yes, it’d be Reno, stands to reason,
Especially after Tuesday night’s fuck

With Brady in the back of his car, with
The crisp packets, sweet wrappers, empty coke
Bottles on the floor and some girl’s panties

Tucked in the glove compartment (how the heck
Did they get there? Brady innocently
Asked) and cigarette ends stuffed in ashtrays

To overflowing and Brady eyes closed,
Tongue hanging out like some goofy schoolboy,
And to make it worse, he got the cramp on

The final run and howled like a wolf on
A moonlit night. She lies back on the floor,
Her head resting on her hands, her legs now

Touching at the knees. If she had to choose,
And she hated choosing, choosing always
Means a loss, she’d choose Reno. She likes his

Manners, his well-spoken voice, his gentle
Love making, his tongue, his lips, his soft hands
Over her body (gentlemanly of course)

And his reciting Rimbaud before he
Kissed her goodnight. She smiles, runs her warm tongue
Over her lower lip, but she doesn’t

Have to choose, she can have them both, can be
Fucked and loved by each in turn, each one on
Different nights and different days, in

Different fashions and different ways,
Each knowing neither the other’s role or
Place or seductive words or touch or feel

And need never know, that way she can have
Them both and neither then need ever go.

another interesting tale, i was wondering if you write prose, as your imagination seems suited for laying out the details of a short story or novel...perhaps some flash fiction......which is not to say it's not good poetry,

it is.....

Thank you all for reading & commenting on the poem. Yes, I write short stories and one was published recently in an anthology of short stories by other authors and one by myself.
