She’s practical when she prepares for sex

She’s practical when she prepares for sex
and not theatrical, but sultry in
the everyday removal of her clothes.
Direct and purposeful and confident
and unashamed by her defenselessness,
she offers honor – naked honor – in
the comfort of her knowing what comes next—
and when she lays her down, when love inspects
the close particularities of skin
relaxed before its senses, then the blessing
she exudes is in the complement
of how she’ll – with her body – there compose
her giving and her thank-you with a grin
that knows it touches love’s credendi lex.

Now there is a gentle and touching tribute to a woman's sexuality, Joel. I like it. Sue♥

No doubt about, Joel you can write excellent poems. This is sexual but classical.

This works very nicely for me, Joel, until the last two lines.

Gorgeous poem!

(Got a little tripped up on the last two words "credendi lex" .... gotta look that up).

Happy New Year, Joel! It's been great to see you back here posting your fine writing this past year!

They've said it all. I will reiterate. This is a fine and loving tribute to a woman. Sexy, but tender.
