You and I are like the starlings, Love—
a flock of nervous life— and beautiful—
with something brilliant in the unison
direction of our movement, guided by
a conversation spoken by our souls—
by flesh that breathes invisibility
with perfect faith that wind is air
and not a myth of truth that isn’t there,
or love that lacks the credibility
of hearts. We love, but which of us controls
this caritas relationship, whose sky
is paisley with the flowers we’ve begun
to sketch like starlings’ dance, where— merciful,
alive— we're filling all: below, above?
