i sit here
alone
underground
listening
hoping that love
will just happen
why work
for what should just be
its christmas everyday
and the war never started
i am filled with this understanding
but no one will take my hand
and just hug me
as if i were their brother
why?
it is possible
i was adopted
i know none from birth
i am only what people have gifted me
my mother is life and she is good
yet sometimes harsh
enjoy the moments
as they are not yours
as nothing can be kept
forgive me my awkwardness
as my heart sings true
