He saw you Bonnie Parker
Pushing a trolley in the

Superstore, down the aisle
Of cereals, cakes and cookies,

Wearing a black beret, white
Coat, black dress that came

To the ankles, black shoes like
Grandmother once wore years

Before. He followed you along
The aisle where you paused and

Stared at beefsteaks and pork
Chops. Your fingers lifted and

Turned around, your eyes peering
At price and weight. You dropped

The items in the trolley, then walked
On, your ass swaying slightly as he

Followed close behind, wondering
How ghosts can still touch and feel,

How sexy you can still seem like
Some half remembered dream He

Stopped and watched as you leaned
Over the cheeses and delicatessens,

Fingers hovering over the choice and
Brands, your leg lifting slightly as you

Leaned down to reach. Part of him
Wanted to touch your arm, to speak,

To say, Hello, but he did nothing, said
Nothing just watched and stared, he

May have wanted to Kiss you, if he
Had guts or dared. He saw you Bonnie

Parker, with your dark beret pushed
To the back of your head, your hands

Gripping the trolley, then you was gone,
Kaput, defunct, back with the dead.
