just false hope in all its diaphanous glory
gliding on air in super-duper slow motion
eyes locked on my face in the steamy mirror
what does it mean in this world of endless
variety, your body a vessel for form and function
externalized, perfected in moonlit expressionism
with ultra-linear stylization, impressionistic glow
cubist, classical, all there just behind the sheer
curtain of lace that hides your true intentions
but of course, you don't even know me

The title to a poem is so key to its effect. I have the impression that the poet is viewing his own naked image in the mirror and speaking to the stranger he there sees.

i thought i knew you, till i started to dwell on 'super-duper' - a huge surprise lies in that phrase!

i know you
because you
are like me
describing surroundings and feelings. and being as alive as possible
akwardly
i enjoy what you say
even when you strike at the core of what i think often looking in the mirror
and all the people i have been
had to be
now renounced
old ghosts of who i was
but if you were in kauai
i would wanna come over
