parallel lover (again)

met a parallel lover
she didn’t matter, didn't do matter at all
reached for her hand and space inverted, pop!
heavens blew out, hurtled at terrible speed
into something like nothing, clutch onto it
crucial mass is five atoms per meter
anything less and it runs to ether
anything more, the yo-yo sky

which came first?
blowout, or rubberband stars?
bang, or implosion? matter or space?
dark matter or light? warrior or the fight?
we pictured we at the center, and we are
the center of hurtling axes as it were
and myths of the doldrums between
sun kissed fronds, curious nectar

in the beginning was no beginning
color of a garden of a shade unknown
and universe was happy, no way to know
there was no time until the big bang apple
and hands began to turn, winds hissed
deities and cosmic wreckage hurtled
rock began to grind and magma rise
planets began to weather and spin

Fine poem.

no way to know
there was no time until the big bang apple
and hands began to turn, winds hissed
deities and cosmic wreckage hurtled
rock began to grind and magma rise
planets began to weather and spin
( My favourite lines.)

thanks dadio. thanks jack. i may have posted this (or some form of it) here before. condensed from a spacey prose chapter i wove together. just your garden variety matter/anti-matter temporal/non-temporal big bang garden love poem...

funny... i don't have internet right now, and when i walked in to use my office computer, i saw a book about "unsolved mysteries of science" that someone had discarded, which i grabbed. and there are quite a few mysteries... some think that black holes are portals to "other universes." so... do these "universes" kind of just twist around and through each other? even so, what's beyond it all? mind-screw. and we think we're so clever!...

thanks, creativesoul. this one's really several previous poems intertwined around themselves...

unfortunately, my computer time is just about up for now, so i won't be able to read any of the other fine work here, at least for a while...

I like it, mnaz. At the edges, science is poetry is mathematics.

In a similar vein:

--

The Fan Above

A voyeur she’s
over the action--
but simply observing,
we now know,
is not nothing.

She is not jealous.

Like a galaxy
she spins about a core of light
rustling the wind—
as might a butterfly’s
wings in China.

"she didn't matter, didn't do matter at all ".....cool stuff, and a hint to what is coming at you through the final frontier....love and outer space are a natural, because remember Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus ....
(John Gray book )........."rock began to grind and magma rise"....so true !

thanks hollweg. it was interesting to read that (apparently), galaxies form, and perhaps even orbit, around massive black holes, or so the theory goes...

yeah steve... mixing in the 'ol eden myth with the big bang... the timeless, history-less eden, and then one bite of fruit, and bang! the fall, the expulsion into a hurtling universe of temporal dualities...

or something like that!
