Dawn is a White Death

The night is a life born into dreams
that grow and follow on another
seeming to be related though they are
from times and places so different
in the universe only one dreamer
could hold together episodes removed so in sequence
the slow passing hours
slip through sleep
make room for them.

The night is a life born into dreams
that run riot through a world
unbound from the strict laws of nature --
the prohibitions we evade
with a simple change of mind our
indulgences fire tracers through
resolutions of self-denial--
until the waking
life imposes.

The night is a life born into dreams
that resists discipline—
any prohibition--
God has yet not claimed
this land before you enter his mind
and a change of heart
still will veer the destiny of a world--
laws are relative in a way
a scientist could only dream.

The night is a life born into dreams
leaping confidently
into space and riding the wind
then, of a moment, falling--
brief awakenings
in the dark
harbingers of the end
the gradual realization
it has all already been forgotten.

there is unbridled power in dreams.....they are the breeding grounds for possibility, the safe haven for mending, the difference between madness and contentment........enjoyed this.....
