i saw a commercial on tv
of a spider whipping this guy around the room
i laughed
thought of my mother
freaking, recruiting her spider murderess
in the tiles on woodruff
are memories of my childhood
bath tubs, and cats, and dogs
the well adjusted family member
never arrived

because my children
brought love to me
i wrote my mother
about the spider
and my laughter
and there is healing there

i wasted many days
crying about my mother
my father
husbands
God
and all that i am powerless over

restored
sanity is all i came to believe
i would be lying
if i told you my life was mine
has not been in a real long time

creativesoul, Restoration is a cathartic process & all of us have our

if you would listen to my parents“s discourse
more than two decades ago
(as I did)
they were the well adjusted model
(facts, obviously, showed other things)
but with the years, their words became
less assertive, sometimes blurry
at times almost tenderly cracky
& question-gifted
yeah, life goes on...!

enjoyed your poem, creativesoul! :)

it's a great sense of relief when we finally understand our humanness, our imperfections, and can arrive at that miraculous place where we forgive our naive stupidity, and merely chalk it up on the tally board as Lessons Learned, My Way...
keep up the good work, and keep the writings coming .....this is a friendly bunch here at the studio.......more later, c-soul, my friend
