The inspiration for this song escapes me, as it did when I wrote it earlier in my life.
I wanted to write a song that bordered on being a concerto for piano but stayed far enough from actually realizing that fact to keep me from having to be responsible for it. I think that I accomplished that and more (or less).
There are two “movements”, so to speak, the verses and the refrain. Add to that ambiguous and obscure rock lyrics and, bada-bing, bada-boom, I ain’t in the same universe as classical music. But, whew, was that ever close!
To friendship,
Michael
“And what if you track down these men and kill them? What if you murdered all of us? From every corner of your Republic, thousands would rise to take our places. Even Nazis can't kill that fast.” – Victor Laszlow (played by Paul Henreid), from “Casablanca” - (1942)

Who Came For Me Last Night[/b]
Someone has got to know who,
someone that I can talk to,
someone has got to know who
came for me last night.
Someone has got to have seen,
someone who knows what I mean,
someone has got to have seen
who came for me last night.
Was her hair golden yellow?
Did she wear a look of love?
When she spoke, was it mellow?
Someone has got to have heard
if there was spoken a word.
Someone has got to have heard
who came for me last night.
Was her hair golden yellow?
Did she wear a look of love?
When she spoke, was it mellow?
Someone has got to have heard
if there was spoken a word.
Someone has got to have heard
who came for me last night.
Someone has got to know who,
someone that I can talk to,
someone has got to know who
came for me last night.
