DIXIE DOURBRIDGE.

I’ll have you know that
I ‘m not that kind of
Girl said Dixie (she
Was of course but she’d
Not let on to the
Others that she was)
I was brought up to
Know the difference
Between right and wrong
(Sure she was but that
Didn’t change a thing)
And I have always
Behaved like a well
Groomed lady and treat
Men with the respect
They deserve (her drunk
Mother said men weren’t
Worth a donkey’s fart)
And even if I
Do allow them to
Succumb to my charms
And let them fall head
Long into my arms
I still retain that
Sense of purity
My sweet mother drummed
Into me as a
Kid (yeah her mother
Drummed her some all right
And especially
After the gin kicked
In) and only let
Them make love to me
If they offer to
Marry me after
The event but men
Being men they just
Renege on their vows
Or promises and
Go off with some young
Tart not caring that
They break their vows
And my fragile heart.
