power

you strategically cross your leg
emotive magic to a trained eye
like mine, you shift your glance
like a cat toying with a mouse
back to the New York Times
and we both know of course
this was not a naive accident
on a routine ambling subway car

that I was privileged to such silky
magnificence, to the emerald lace,
that frames the ambient clues in the
arcane-alabaster world of dermis-eroticus

forget about smart bombs
biological agents, improvised
explosive devices, poisonous
gases, germ warfare, bazookas
uzis, M-16's, flame throwers,
nuclear weapons of mass destruction
Child's Play !.....with these eyes
I have seen Real power.

I too have seen how magnificent and powerful a glance from a woman is. It can be so destructive and healing all at the same time. Rendering a man to such vulnerability. Powerful poem.

No doubt about it.
Real Power, so much that I

Sometimes wonder if the world is the way it is because they want it this way.

Then I think about

pardon the ramble, really good poem, I obviously enjoyed it or I would not be rambling all over it.

I am still haunted by a smile,
she was on a city bus in Nashville
Wearing a big floppy straw hat
and a very pretty summer dress
As I got on I saw her looking at me out of the corner of my eye, she was smiling when I turned around after paying my fair.
Then she tipped her head so that the brim of her hat hid her face
Then for a few miles we played peek a boo
And when I got off she flashed me another smile
I read an article about flirting and it said men make too much out of a smile.

oi
sorry for the ramble
