BREDGARDE SAW.

Bredgarde saw her
Passing through the

Park in her green hat
And green dress and

Followed her with his
Eyes and she paused

By the lake and stared
At the swans and ducks

And the sunlight caught
Her face and he watched

As her hand went to her
Forehead to block out the

Sun and her other hand
Held onto her hat and he

Studied her way of standing
And took in the curve of her

Waist and hips and the area
Of her breasts and he wished

At that moment he could have
Been the sun to have kissed her

Cheek or the slight wind to ruffle
Her hair or lift her dress then as

He watched she turned and walked
On leaving the white swans and

Dull ducks and Bredgarde to their
Boring lives without her sucking

From their existence that brief
Moment of beauty and grace and

The sunlight playing childlike on
The pale soft features of her face.
