Even as she speaks, his eyes
Wander to her thighs. It’s the
Way she sits, her legs crossed,
He looks where the skirt slits.
If his eyes had legs, they’d walk
Right up, he muses, tiptoeing as
Fingers do in childish games slowly
Across a palm. Just gazing, no harm,
Only half listening to her conversation.
Something about a dress she’d seen
And matching shoes, was that it?
He lifts his gaze to her eyes, those
Passion pools of colour and love
Maybe, he’ll have to see. His study
Moves him to her nose, her hair,
Her lips, then down slowly to her hips.
He nods, he hopes in the right places,
Smiles, when he thinks it appropriate,
Not too soon, not too late. She speaks
On, her lips moulding the words like
A sculptress, he notes, raising his eyes,
Her tongue moving like a snake through
Grass. He catches words, holds them,
Turns them around, squeezes them for
Meaning, she uncrosses her legs, then
Recrosses them, he catches a sight of
Pantyhose, a shade of blue or was it
Green, hard to say with the light what
He’s seen. She talks on nonstop, her
Words filling the air like small birds,
Taking flight about his head; his eyes
Rest upon her bust, like neatly wrapped
Gifts to the gods, clothed and set, unseen,
Untouched as yet. She leaves a question
In the air, something about a new look
Fashion. He sits and stares, struck dumb,
But full of hidden lusts and sexual passion.

Re: EVEN AS SHE SPEAKS.
hey dadio, you do such a good job of creating the sexual tension, i don't think you need the last line.....you paint a place most men have been to at some point, those compelling distractions where the eyes overpower the ears..........well done
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: EVEN AS SHE SPEAKS.
I agree that the last line is written throughout the whole piece...so whether or not it's explicit, it's there. Tense...and privileged...and sad, exciting commentary....
