Forgive me if I break with etiquette,
but shit, I gotta leak— I gotta go—
and, yes, I know it’s inappropriate
to talk about our bathroom habits, though
I haven’t got another choice— I need
to get away from you and outta your
relentless conversation. When I’ve peed,
perhaps I might return— might take some more—
I maybe might be just polite enough
to look you in the eye and care about
the rambling details of the stupid stuff
that you soliloquize about. I doubt
it, though. My spirit needs an emptiness
from you. My bladder’s full. I gotta piss.
