the Tau of the Lumberjack

Post by saw » April 6th, 2011, 6:47 am

Anyone can fell a tree
but can you keep the tree
from killing you ?
Trees don't always fall true
in the spot you pray for
sometimes they bounce off
a neighboring branch, and
if you are standing too close
you may be injured
or worse, you must always
consider the wind, the lean
the balance
the tree will often topple
before the saw cuts
all the way through, remember
if the kerf is closing up
instead of getting larger,
you have misjudged the balance.
Do Not Keep Sawing
in the hope that the tree
will change its mind.....
trees never change their minds.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

i like this- i have been around elders that told me they could hear the tree screaming-at sun dance on the fourth day when the tree gives its spirits and our prayers, there is a creeping sadness and over the tree, tears, prayer ties=
i know some people that have been injured. i know some people that lost their entire life savings betting on the lumber biz. i guess when you only lumber jack and do not johnny appleseed maybe ya gotta give stuff up
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
