evaluation day

Post by saw » April 14th, 2011, 6:55 am

don't want to be macho anymore
in that that dumb-ass stoic way
don't need to stand up to torture
just to prove I'm capable, don't
want to feel new guilt trips from not
being inspired to fix that dripping faucet
or urges to shampoo the carpet
after lifetimes it seems of slow death
at the wheel of the tsar in charge

this year, please don't mark my
scorecard with big red X's
'cause I couldn't do more, please
know me not my my hard work
not by my endless project lists, please
see me through the innocent mind
of a baby gazing into daddy's blue eyes
let my legacy be that I cared
with all my intensity, to do no harm.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

what a wonderful poem and concept
to be known for how we are rather than what we can do
the last line is so powerful and a good goal for all human kind
write on

no no no!! it's a bottom line nation! your net worth is your worth... greed is human nature... socialism is satan, capitalism is religion, the corporation is god... where have you been? haha.

yeah, i know the feeling. and when your uncle gives you a to-do list, well, look out...
