running through fields of clover;
leaving trails of broken flowers.
feeling no guilt;
because that's what they are there for.
loving the feel of the
soft green leaves on her bare feet;
knowing that all this will be
replenished on the morrow.
falling face down
in the sweet smelling fields;
rolling over and over again
happy just to be.
she's three years old
and discovering the world
for the first time;
with all SIX of her senses.
Innocence
Re: Innocence
happy trails
a poem so appropriately named
wonderful images reminded me of my youngest daughter stephanie
she used to play in our back yard
she played with such freedom till she fell asleep doing whatever
it was she was doing
id always smile when i saw her curled up in the grass with
a big smile on her face
thanks for bringing back some great memories

Re: Innocence
Thanks snowman. I love children and their total abandon. The absolute belief that the world is made for their enjoyment.
Re: Innocence
oh yes, to capture that innocence and being. Love it.

Re: Innocence
Thank you. It was one of those that was actually easy to write. Kids are great subjects.
