houses not my own

Post by the mingo » April 18th, 2011, 2:26 pm

i used to wander back & forth &
in & out of houses not my own
wondering what i was doing there
looking out those windows or
touching the lamps on
the tables there

one day i found i was after something
i already had

i ain't been back or forth
or in or out of any
of those houses since
because of the one day
that one day i took the road
& not for a round trip either
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Going my way...
ha ha you know me and my houses. :P
This hit the spot.
Thanks mingo
for the road.

little mischievous darling!

reminds me of a few relationships - the eerie feeling of looking at the person and feeling like you don't know who they are - like they are a stranger. and either they or you are out of place

lots of ways to interpret this. the literal images are are cool in themselves, a little spooky. this reminded me of that "houses in motion" song by the talking heads..
