JUST LIKE LOUISE BROOKS.

He watches the young
Waitress in the coffee bar

Lift her arm and hand and
Pull down on the lever of

The chrome coffee machine.
She looks, to him, like a young

Louise Brooks, but with blonde
Hair, not black, but she looks

Quite similar to the actress from
The back. He’s seen her in old films

And books, not the waitress girl,
But Louise Brooks, but this young

Girl right here holds his attention,
He studies her as she moves, the

Arms, the waist, the hips, the cute
Swaying ass. She had served him

A few minutes ago, her small hands
Like delicate flowers, had arranged

His tray with cup, saucer, and milk
Jug and plate of chocolate muffins.

He smelt her perfume, it lingers
Still, like lilies in a closed room.

She turns and her bright blue
Eyes seem cloudless like those

Holiday brochure photos of hot
Summer skies. He watches as she

Serves and smiles and attends the
Needs and wants of customers.

Her blonde hair, so like Louise
Brooks, frames her features,

Gives out that beauty, but also
That seriousness of one who

Reads and studies classic books.
He sits and sips his cappuccino

Slow, and senses an inner warmth
On viewing the coffee serving girl:

A fire like kind of heat and glow, that
Pleases him like one escaping snow.

well developed tension that many I'm sure can empathize with....the allure of grace and beauty....a perk beyond the coffee.....the inexpensive thrill of being a fly on the wall...well done, terry
