for stand-up clowns plying
the trade of comedy
for a few cheap laughs
to a drunken crowd that
doesn't know what's funny
after a few shooters, but
absurdity is a lousy place
to live, a shitty place to work

than the cubicle, an ugly box
with a crappy chinese desk
where workers are asked to contain
themselves while they "think outside" it ?
hello....soulless partitions of cheapsteak
conformity that isolates collaborative growth
must be the brainchildren of dipsticks

that haven't had any lubrication
for so long their neurons have dry rotted
and floated away like dust motes of futility
into the expanding toxic clouds, I mean really
even a blue-collar-bozo like me knows
without the trap beneath the sink
that always holds a tiny reservoir of water
the sewer gases will not only stink the place up
they will explode, Blow Up

thanx dadio, the cubicle is a dreadful slow death, where creativity is suppressed in favor of subordination.....but when you stand back look at it all , where are the shining achievements of capitalism, the lasting monuments to the good life.......

thanx dadio and mnaz, this spiral down is like a funnel cloud to hell, sucking in the dreams of once hard-working folks, into the vortex of despair.....Did you hear about the demonstrations planned for Sept......there is organizing going on to occupy Wall Street......Permanently......for thousands of disenfranchised citizens to bring their camping gear to create something similar to the Arab Spring revolts..
the website is through adbusters, simply called occupywallstreet.com I believe...I'll check that.......but it could be interesting...they're hoping for a minimum of twenty thousand people .....I've given up that either major party has my best interests at heart......they just work for different corporations....

cool. we still have much to be thankful for here, but the trends are shitty. the ascendant material obsessions, the mindset that "greed is human nature / ANYTHING socialist (gasp) doesn't work" (we won the cold war), the endless corporate-sponsored war, the skyscraper traders gambling with (and too often losing) our savings, the gradual slide toward quasi-fascist governance, the religious bigotry and zealotry constantly pushed as "mainstream"... these sort of things. i mean, i still dig this place, but we need to keep our eyes more open ...
