Here I want you to be

Post by Atehequa » August 17th, 2011, 8:22 pm

You chose to close with me again
Brandishing steel in the morning sun
You come to open my skin
Or give chase while I run

This time I shall not flee
This ground to make my stand
Here I want you to be
Rapier held tightly in your hand

Now you bring this deadly game
Here in a dark untammed land
Last dance of the blue flame
Rapier slips from your dying hand

I like that this is happening "again"--the finite speaking, the ultimate experience, but the history inherent within.
