A look will set you free—a look at truth.
Because the book is written, you will read.
Compulsive searching doesn’t make a sleuth.
Discovery descends from knowing need.

Eviction doesn’t equal exodus.
Forsaking duty doesn’t equal free.
Greed’s green is not what colors graciousness.
Hell’s hate is not what colors what we’ll be.

Immortal is an adjective to fear.
Jazz improvises music for a time.
Keep watch tonight till colors bright appear.
Let day exist till you’re and we’re and I’m.

Mortality is often more than less.
No truly answers prayer as much as yes.

Opossums share my origin in God.
Pahoehoe flows from heaven too.
Queens are – and kings – as much evolved as cod.
Remind me I am family to you.

Senescence is a stem where wisdom blooms.
Tombs, wombs: so many rooms have been prepared.
Until I do, we’re all but brides and grooms.
Vocation is the call to which we’re paired.

West, tell me where your zephyr spirits blow.
X kisses, O embraces: tic-tac-toe.
Yes truly answers prayer as much as no.
Zacchaeus was a little man, we know.

& now a finished English primer, yet
unended when we grow our alphabet.
