places upriver

places upriver
require work to get to
the current is always
against you & never rests
your paddle must always
be in the water

you must always be prepared
to be defeated at some point

or else you will lose
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

living on the edge can wear you out, but there are times when we have no other option.......I imagined a familiar journey down an intimate river we have traveled many times, knowing full well whitewater is just ahead........
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Mingo, These days seems like we all are working the rapids in that proverbial river. Great short poem! 8)
