A storm, she is coming

The groundhogs pile dirt around their holes
The soaring hawks and buzzards are absent from the sky
Having flew far inland not to risk wind broken wings
Today all was still and the broad York's surface looked as smooth as glass
Clouds are drifting in from the south like ominous heralds
Well expected yet unwelcomed
Irene is on her way

it's getting a little weird looking here in baltimore......I've taken as many precautions as I could muster, so now we wait and hope it turns out to nothing around here......I lived in the Florida Keys for 8 years...been through a few of theses weather events and the worst thing often is tornadoes that form in the tail ends of the hurricanes.......a timely poem indeed !

Thank you

The storm has passed us. Although our power goes out everytime there is a bad storm, we were fortunate enough not to experience such this time.

Wake up giving thanks for not having anything bad happen to us and then fall back into the same old routines.
