the righteous exterminator

I try to be gentle
minimize my hard edges
I value life I think
as I hypocritically crush a mosquito
biting my ankle

I feel bad about his fate
I wonder if this is akin
to training a once animal loving
farm boy now in boot camp
to kill like a professional

kill kill kill kill
if it bothers you kill it
kill it kill it
it's much more efficient
than pandering to inferior species

a swat here
a little poison spray there
all pests must be eliminated
insects, vermin
collateral damage

There was a time when I would take unwanted crawly things outside. Then I was invaded by ants, tiny brownish-red ones and the big black ones. I had no problems killing them eventually, I couldn't learn to live with them. Mosquitoes have never been an issue, after all, they bit me first.

Much food for thought here, Saw. At what point does one's revenge, reflex action, stop? Especially in light of all the atrocities humans have inflicted on one another in the name of conquering new territories for God....the fear of harm or systematic hate prevailing above all.
