a joyful kill

a joyful kill 6/10/10
when there’s nothing left
and words fail to have meaning,
when my poetry floats in a somber grey
brackish stream
and I am swallowed like a fish,
then
I will confess my silence
and say no more, my Love,
my life will have been lived
in Your memory
like an insatiable hunger
Your insight burning away all that sunlight
from this flesh, uncoiled,
dreams we shared briefly
You and I,
inseparable
inside these paper walls of my heart
blossoming like a rose.
thundering like a strange fire.
