blue lights on the runway ( a rant )

Post by saw » November 1st, 2011, 9:22 am

unchanged capitalia
with its massive genitalia
one mean sunuvabitch
he looks beyond austere facial contortions
well beyond collateral murder
c'mon, dope, derivatives
what's the difference
oh yea there is that one detail
you go to prison if the man
catches you with a crack pipe
but where is that man
when there's a mugging on wall st.

we are 3rd generation TV watchers
missed most of our lessons in school
about the importance of attending rallies
to protect the fragile old lady democracy
but I must say we have broken all
the passivity records, we have nothing
to counterbalance the avalanche raining down
and i'm sorry no amount of doubletalk
can make robbery seem like reform

the lobbyist, the think tankers are paid well
to hoodwink the faithful, it's time for fresh eyes
fresh paradigms, new voices, disobedience
yes you heard me, disobedience has always been
the first step, we can't wait and watch the wars
on TV, watch the looting of the treasury, we mustn't
get hung up in the webs of pundits, the spiders
that try to convince us that there is a moral difference
between an improvised explosive device and a drone
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

the passivity you speak of has baffled me for many years now.

but i see some stirrings at last.

(if it gets too loud, maybe they'll have to take our internet ...)

I like the verbal ingenuity in this. Sadly the social situation is like it is portrayed here.

Favorite stanza:

we are 3rd generation TV watchers
missed most of our lessons in school
about the importance of attending rallies
to protect the fragile old lady democracy
but I must say we have broken all
the passivity records, we have nothing
to counterbalance the avalanche raining down
and i'm sorry no amount of doubletalk
can make robbery seem like reform
