MIRACLE WORKER.

The young woman in the store
looks like Jean Harlow; she serves
at the makeup department and
makes old dames look good or at
least gives that impression as they
look in the mirror at themselves
remembering how they used to look.
The Harlow lookalike works miracles;
her hand has the skill to bring dead
faces to life again, to make up the
almost impossible. She doesn’t notice
you as you pass by, doesn’t see your
intense gaze, the way your eyes search
her out, finger their way over her breasts,
walking down her thighs. You pause,
wondering what her hands are like as
they take a face in them, moving fingers
over tired skin. She looks up and smiles,
then looks away, back to miracle working,
doing up dames faces, giving back dreams.
Nothing quite like miracles it seems.
