that stare
and you weren’t
the only guy
to have been moved by her
or whose boat
had been almost
capsized by her
but there again
these dames
don’t come along
every day
and there was that Sunday
you took that trip
over to her place
thinking of maybe
a good time
and there she was
with two other guys
and each one smitten
like you
hanging on her
every word and glance
and hoping for the chance
and wishing the other two guys
would go off
and fish
or drink
or find some other

and them following her
along those country lanes

was how cute
