Awakening

The enlightened mind is
whirring untethered in space, the shock of
it white clouds surrounding sacred mountains and drifting
away oceans of awe.
Radiance is carved from each movement
and dispels angry faces of fear.
Listen with an inner ear, my Love, shepherds
are in the meadow and thieves gather in the
marketplace
singing of the Om, lotus
petals fall from nowhere. It is raining
light.
The wolf you have fed with eternity is not perplexed with
the January moon and joins the chorus
when the night approaches with calloused feet.
But you are sleeping my Darling,
and the hour is now at hand,
I am but a pen in your firmest grip,
please wait for the blue of moments just before the sunrise
and use me at your own peril,
write me down before you forget this poem and
you lose yourself
in the burning bed we must share to stay alive.
Words will tumble from the open sky, do not
hesitate, do not forsake your Beloved.
Go gently into your heart.
