Buying In / Selling out

Post by saw » January 5th, 2012, 10:01 am

I "live" like a rat
on a hot tin roof
minus the Liz cleavage,
I want to live
in the ersatz chimera
of a cryptic deity of Amazons
that ingest black cohash,
me a winged clay pigeon
a pernicious half breed
jaundiced and tired, ready
for the internal katzenjammers
to fly the coop
with elephantine ears
that whoosh away the day,
I still greet the daily sunrise
happy to nestle down in the fantasy
that dresses the beasts
in human clothing and teaches
them to walk and talk like a man,
cause those fucking zombies are
uncouth and don't get the social cues,
they'll think nothing about cavalierly
dripping their melting cheese pizza skin
all over you without even a hint
of an apology, they could benefit
from a little dale carnegie and some
mouthwash.......if they still had
their eyes they wouldn't think twice
about not blinking them when they
step on your toes, you know the type
and I ain't much on pulverizing brains,
I'd rather ignore them, sink down into
the curves of sugarmamadom where they
don't care where you been, happy to lie
about the shanty with some homegrown
like a guilt free neo-american reject.

Of course the meaning of this poem is important but I read the sounds of the poem with delight----like "that ingest black cohash, in that ersatz chimera,"
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.
