her long black hair and sly strength
moved armies and silenced them in one note
she had the outrageous nerve to mention love
in the midst of all that fire and destruction
a true national hero right in the lava of it
nobody talks of love anymore, been sold
why can't we make music like that?

WE CAN, SHE DID- AND WELL- SHE GOT SOBER? LOL- I THINK THERE ARE A FEW OTHERS AS WELL- THAT DO THAT WILD THING WITH THE VOICE BOX===SING ON....

yeah... amazed at how her two songs emerge to kick your ass from the (mostly) laid-back haze of what is otherwise a deadhead-type of album.

btw, it's odd how "white rabbit" got past the radio censors like it did-- quite the narcotic invitation. seems like janis joplin got in a lot more trouble with her songs . . .
