Coda

Post by saw » May 9th, 2012, 7:32 am

it was so simple when I was a young man
to turn someone's checkered past into paisley
seduced by the potential of a pair of long silky legs
their existence a tanned contrast to a pastel tie-dyed
sun dress, my skull only useful to affix a red bandanna

yeah, it was child's play to miss the omens
of impending disaster when a feminine smile
was like lead to kryptonite necklaces from the sea
when guitars and wine were the giants of every evening
when the pipes were passed before the mango sun

settling in for the night in a bed a lava-lamp-blue water,
but it wasn't all fun and games, saw my share of danger
dangled a few participles with idiomatic femme fatales
and their ad hoc spellings, often entranced by their
lexical enhancements and extraordinary figurative uses

hell, I know I ain't no saint, but like frankie said, regrets
I have a few, but of course he was just repeating paul anka
but you know sometimes if you're damn lucky the universe
actually conspires in your favor, ha....I'll be ready when I hear
willie nelson's twang, gravedigger when you dig my grave

dig it shallow, so I can feel the rain
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

much like a fine meal- yummy 8)
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
