sharing the stars of night

i adore you like a thunderstorm
coming in from the west

and like the scent of soft summer rain

and like a clear peaceful evening
of cricket song and the scent of grass

in the raining thunder and lightning
remembering you in the scent of a soft
summer's rain

the smell of my skin becomes you

in the meadow of a peaceful ending

in the thought of never leaving you
without taking you within myself
