Snake of river mist
rising from the S bend
as dawn
renders the invisible visible;

doe with fawn, poetry
on the periphery
of the waters edge

and there, at the treeline,
almost camouflaged,
dappled hide like spots of sunshine
on the forest floor
his antlers a spread of branches
the buck.
