of overpriced coffee much to the taste
of filtered hot water in the absence
of any texture

the mass hypnosis called commerce

where there is no espresso machine
there is no culture

as axiom

having a few hours to enjoy the magazines
and populist titles of recent discoveries
concerning the fate of bookstores and poetry

and why modern poetry seemingly never rhymes

as if rhyming itself upon a shelf looked
like an elf and had no wealth

much to say if you are on this line
it is not my fault

i claim no liability for bad poetry
or bad taste

though i can accept the hooliganisms
and shenanigans of wayword word broth

and the evolution soup

these kinds of intellectualizations
emoting the emotions of time travel
and sitting at airports

in the wonder of it all

can create such delicate surprises
for anyone who has the time
to think of far away exotic cliches

and there to paint with words
what gives meaning its meaning

as if sometimes our thoughts drift
or that the metaphor of an airport
allows one to think freely

carefree and joyfully at peace
with the center of the earth

to still such molten fires
of long forgotten representations
in the timeless adventure
