we cease to matter

we cease to matter
the crown of bliss
fits on a head of flies
this this is this

a long time ago we came to our senses
we have been becoming more senseless
ever since

it is now time to awake from the great sleep
we are like junkies that don't want to wake up

we trade our dreams for reality
we unleash countless words to forget
we are waiting for the universe to arrive
but it never went anywhere

in a flash of stars
an injection of pure consciousness
we arrive at the ceremony of voids
designed to bestow upon us
the relentless meaning of things

our finger tips grasp at the edges of the abyss
and we imagine we have already conquered
the endless vastness of forbidden knowledge
of the unknown

we speak as if this this is this
then what is that that is that
a rat is not a cat and a cat is not a rat
this is this and that is that
but what is this and what is that

we cease to matter
the crown of bliss
fits on the head of flies

maybe it was because I was stoned when I read your poemºº-

I tripped out on the title of the poem,

or maybe I am just a word kook

whichever, I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed reading your poem, and the thoughts it engendered about the God Particle, quantum physics, matter, and eternity.

please pardon multiple replies

adding up all of the knowledge that we
do have now... and, that which we
may possibly find in the next ten thousand years...
I think, wouldn't tower over one single fly's pile of excrement...
on a universal scale, that is.

nice read rabbit

Thanks, i was playing on words with different ideas
i try to explore the possibilities, and let them fall where
they may, I could have said ...we unleash countless wars,
for instance.I try to juxtapose cosmic awareness, or scale
with kind of philosophical distance. With a healthy dose
of Bukowski like perspective, something like that.

it's not that i miss the irony if there is any
it's just that the provocative nature of the alleged provocation
seems only to imply

...

i am sorry you feel that way !!!!!!!!!!!
