words at war
this in the predicament we find ourselves in
that we can't seem to remember before
when what was written had been what was spoken
when everything that became everything
was finally put down to memory
to a time before time became hardened into words
when the only thing placed in writing was sacred text
yet hardly had the first records been put down
then the words spoke of a great war of words
but this was all put into perspective by the shear
expanse of the ages, long before the pages were turned
things were spoken of in lavish durations of sweet moments
a departure from vast descriptions of unimaginable events
that had come to pass some utterly phenomenal happening
addressed through total awareness of the absolute diversity
and yet the endless possibility in the most simple things
as it arrived at some point of no return beyond infinite praise

it doesn't make any sense to copy your whole poem in a reply though the poem is a whole. I'm just taking this large chunk and trying to wrap myself about it and think of what it is saying.

One way of looking at it is reading this as an explanation(?) for scriptures and revelations----how words sang of the divine before they began to dim or brighten in their use of navigating us through the prosaic (but still filled with myth and poetry and fiction) world.

Anyway I have to think further on this.

I donno I had written another version and I had not posted it
and I suddenly had to turn off my computer to boot my modem
and I forgot the poem was still there waiting.I sometimes write
something just before I turn off my computer at night and I
have to write quick.This second version was what I recalled
from the first one that I lost.I did not think about it that much
I just attempted to get the essence of what the first one had
been on about.In fact theirishsea it's possible that it is not
the better version but you seem to have gotten the jist of it.
It's a rather difficult subject to take on, it's like trying to
grab on to writing that moves like invisible ink.It's not for me
to say, it's just for me to write.Scriptures? or even earlier?
When I write I don't really think about why or how, it is
more about the what.Sense my knowledge of English, as far
as proper use, is rather spotty, I have to wing it.
